Maciej Sablik - profesor doktor habilitowany nauk matematycznych, profesor nadzwyczajny w Zakładzie Metod Matematycznych w Ekonomii i Finansach w Instytucie Matematyki, na Wydziale Matematyki, Fizyki i Chemii Uniwersytetu Śląskiego. Dyrektor Instytutu Matematyki Uniwersytetu Śląskiego. Działalność naukowa: równania funkcyjne i ich zastosowania w matematyce finansowej oraz ubezpieczeniowej. Uczestnik wielu międzynarodowych konferencji z zakresu równań funkcyjnych, w tym najbardziej prestiżowej International Symposium on Functional Equations (od 1979 r. regularnie zapraszany do uczestnictwa w tych dorocznych sympozjach).
